
Summary
The Toxicologist is responsible for conducting research on the toxicity of chemicals, drugs, and other substances. The Toxicologist will work with a team of scientists to evaluate the effects of these substances on living organisms, including humans. The Toxicologist will also work with other professionals, such as lawyers, engineers, and public health officials, to ensure that the public is safe from exposure to toxic substances.
Responsibilities
- Conduct toxicological research. This includes designing and conducting experiments, analyzing data, and writing research papers.
- Identify and evaluate the risks posed by chemicals. This includes assessing the toxicity of chemicals, developing safety guidelines, and conducting risk assessments.
- Manage the risks posed by chemicals. This includes developing and implementing safety procedures, and providing training to employees.
- Advise on the safe use of chemicals. This includes providing information to businesses and individuals about the safe use of chemicals.
- Test the safety of products. This includes testing the safety of products for human health and the environment.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Toxicology or a related field
- Experience in toxicological research
- Strong knowledge of toxicology and pharmacology
- Experience with experimental toxicological techniques
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
