
Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Development Manager to lead our sales development team and drive the growth of our company’s sales pipeline. As the Sales Development Manager, you will play a crucial role in generating new business opportunities, nurturing leads, and building a strong sales foundation. You will be responsible for managing a team of Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) and working closely with our sales and marketing teams to ensure a seamless flow of qualified leads into the sales funnel.
Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Management:
- Recruit, train, and onboard new Sales Development Representatives (SDRs) to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Set clear performance expectations and sales targets for the team, providing regular coaching, feedback, and mentoring to drive individual and team success.
- Foster a positive and motivating work environment that encourages collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement within the sales development team.
Sales Strategy and Planning:
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing leadership to develop and refine the sales development strategy and lead generation initiatives.
- Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor activities to identify new opportunities and areas for growth.
- Create and execute strategic outreach campaigns to target specific industries, regions, or customer segments.
Lead Generation and Qualification:
- Work closely with the marketing team to ensure a steady flow of inbound leads and optimize lead generation efforts.
- Develop outbound lead generation strategies, including cold calling, email campaigns, social selling, and other relevant channels.
- Qualify leads through effective discovery and needs assessment, ensuring only high-quality prospects enter the sales pipeline.
Process Improvement and Sales Enablement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve sales development processes, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in lead qualification and conversion.
- Collaborate with the sales enablement team to create and update sales collateral, scripts, and tools to support the SDRs in their outreach efforts.
- Utilize CRM and sales automation tools to track performance metrics, monitor progress, and generate actionable insights to drive improvements
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Foster strong working relationships with the sales, marketing, and customer success teams to ensure smooth handoffs of qualified leads and maintain a cohesive sales process.
- Collaborate with the sales team to refine lead qualification criteria and align on target accounts and personas.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus.
- Proven experience (X+ years) in sales development or inside sales, with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets.
- Demonstrated success in managing and leading sales development teams, driving individual and team performance.
- In-depth knowledge of sales development strategies, lead generation techniques, and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with potential clients and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, generate insights, and make data-driven decisions.
- Familiarity with CRM software and sales automation tools.
- Highly motivated, proactive, and results-oriented with a passion for continuous improvement.
