Summary

The PR Manager is responsible for developing and executing public relations strategies that help the company achieve its goals. This includes building and maintaining relationships with the media, crafting press releases, and managing crisis communications. The PR Manager will also be responsible for tracking the effectiveness of PR campaigns and making adjustments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with the media: This includes cultivating relationships with journalists, pitching stories, and providing media with information about the company.
  • Craft press releases: This includes writing press releases that are clear, concise, and newsworthy.
  • Manage crisis communications: This includes responding to negative press, handling customer complaints, and managing social media during a crisis.
  • Track the effectiveness of PR campaigns: This includes tracking the results of PR campaigns, identifying areas for improvement, and making adjustments as needed.
  • Develop and execute PR strategies: This includes developing strategies for using PR to achieve the company’s marketing goals, and executing those strategies.
  • Work with other departments to ensure that PR is aligned with the company’s overall goals: This includes working with the sales team to ensure that PR is aligned with sales goals, working with the product development team to ensure that PR is aligned with product development goals, and working with the customer service team to ensure that PR is aligned with customer service goals.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest PR trends: This includes reading industry publications, attending conferences, and following thought leaders on social media.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, or a related field
  • Experience in public relations
  • Strong understanding of public relations principles and techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to think strategically and creatively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and accuracy

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with a variety of public relations software platforms.
  • Experience with data analysis and measurement.
  • Experience with project management.
