
Summary
The Payroll Accountant is responsible for processing payroll for the company’s employees. The Payroll Accountant will work with other members of the accounting team to ensure that payroll is processed accurately and on time, and that all payroll taxes are paid in full and on time.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll for the company’s employees. This includes entering timesheets, calculating wages, deductions, and taxes, and issuing paychecks.
- Ensure that payroll is processed accurately and on time. This includes reconciling payroll records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that all payroll taxes are paid in full and on time.
- Maintain payroll records. This includes keeping track of employee information, such as pay rates, deductions, and tax withholdings.
- Administer payroll policies and procedures. This includes ensuring that payroll is processed in accordance with company policy and applicable laws and regulations.
- Respond to employee inquiries about payroll. This includes providing information about payroll deductions, tax withholdings, and other payroll-related topics.
- Other duties as assigned. This may include a variety of other tasks related to payroll, such as preparing reports, conducting training, and providing support to other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in payroll accounting.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of payroll software.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
