Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dynamic Network Engineer to join our esteemed team. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining our organization’s network infrastructure. Your expertise will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless functioning of our communication systems, data flow, and connectivity across the enterprise. The ideal candidate is a problem solver with a deep understanding of networking principles, protocols, and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Network Design and Architecture: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop robust network solutions that meet the organization’s current and future requirements. Evaluate and recommend appropriate hardware and software technologies to optimize network performance and security.
  2. Network Implementation: Oversee the deployment and configuration of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network appliances. Ensure the smooth integration of new network elements into the existing infrastructure.
  3. Network Security: Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the organization’s network from potential threats and cyberattacks. Monitor network traffic, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents promptly.
  4. Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve connectivity issues promptly. Utilize network monitoring tools to ensure high availability and reliability of the network.
  5. Network Optimization: Continuously analyze network performance data and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce latency. Optimize network configurations to accommodate evolving business needs.
  6. Network Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures. Ensure that network changes are properly documented and communicated.
  7. Capacity Planning: Forecast network capacity requirements and plan for network expansion based on future business growth. Suggest network upgrades and hardware refresh cycles to meet changing demands.
  8. Network Policies and Procedures: Develop and enforce network policies, protocols, and best practices to ensure consistency, security, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  9. Collaboration and Support: Collaborate with IT teams and other stakeholders to provide technical support, troubleshooting assistance, and guidance on network-related matters. Participate in on-call rotations for handling network emergencies.
  10. Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep abreast of emerging networking technologies, industry trends, and best practices. Apply this knowledge to improve existing network infrastructure and processes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, etc.) are highly advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Network Engineer or in a similar networking role.
  • In-depth knowledge of network protocols and technologies (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLAN, VPN, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience with networking hardware and software, including Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet, etc.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., Nagios, SolarWinds, Wireshark).
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex network issues.
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
