
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Network Administrator to join our dynamic and fast-paced organization. As a Network Administrator, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, managing, and maintaining our company’s network infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the efficient and secure flow of data, applications, and services across our interconnected systems, contributing to the overall success of our business operations.
Responsibilities
- Network Design and Implementation:
- Collaborate with IT teams to plan and design network architectures that align with business requirements and future scalability.
- Deploy and configure network hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other relevant components.
- Implement and maintain network protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs, to optimize network performance and security.
- Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Continuously monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues to minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
- Utilize network monitoring tools to analyze traffic patterns, bandwidth utilization, and security threats, and take appropriate actions to address concerns.
- Conduct thorough troubleshooting to isolate and resolve network connectivity, performance, and security problems.
- Network Security and Access Control:
- Establish and enforce network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, to safeguard against unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Implement and manage user access controls, ensuring appropriate permissions and data protection.
- Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments, and apply necessary patches and updates to maintain network integrity.
- Network Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
- Prepare detailed reports on network performance, incidents, and improvements, and present findings to management and stakeholders.
- Network Upgrades and Capacity Planning:
- Evaluate existing network infrastructure and identify areas for improvement or expansion to meet future business needs.
- Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions, ensuring minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Conduct capacity planning to anticipate future network demands and recommend necessary adjustments to support business growth.
- Network Backup and Disaster Recovery:
- Develop and maintain network backup and disaster recovery plans to ensure data and services continuity in case of unforeseen incidents.
- Regularly test backup and recovery procedures to verify their effectiveness and make improvements as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are highly advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar role, demonstrating the ability to manage complex network environments effectively.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and security practices.
- Hands-on experience with network hardware, including Cisco, Juniper, or similar devices.
- Proficiency in network monitoring tools and packet analysis.
- Familiarity with network operating systems, such as Cisco IOS, Junos, or MikroTik RouterOS.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
