
Summary
The Manager, Accounting Policy is responsible for developing and maintaining the company’s accounting policies and procedures. The Manager, Accounting Policy will work with other members of the accounting team to ensure that the company’s financial reporting is accurate, compliant with applicable laws and regulations, and consistent with industry best practices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the company’s accounting policies and procedures. This includes reviewing and updating existing policies, developing new policies, and ensuring that policies are communicated to and understood by all employees.
- Advise management on accounting matters. This includes providing guidance on accounting standards, interpreting accounting rules, and evaluating accounting alternatives.
- Oversee the company’s financial reporting. This includes ensuring that financial statements are prepared in accordance with GAAP, reviewing financial statements for accuracy and completeness, and communicating financial results to management and investors.
- Administer the company’s internal controls. This includes ensuring that internal controls are in place and effective, and testing the effectiveness of internal controls.
- Other duties as assigned. This may include a variety of other tasks related to accounting policy, such as preparing reports, conducting training, and providing support to other departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Experience in accounting policy development and management.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to think critically and make sound financial decisions.
