Job Overview

As an IT Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the smooth functioning of our IT infrastructure and providing technical assistance to our internal team members. Responsibilities

  • Technical Support: Provide prompt and effective technical support to all internal staff members, addressing their hardware, software, and network-related issues via in-person, phone, email, or remote assistance. Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems, escalating complex issues to the appropriate teams when necessary.
  • Hardware Maintenance: Manage and maintain all company-provided hardware, including desktops, laptops, printers, peripherals, and other IT equipment. Install, configure, and upgrade hardware components as needed.
  • Software Configuration: Install, configure, and update software applications on employees’ computers and devices, ensuring they have the necessary tools to perform their duties efficiently. Troubleshoot software-related problems and collaborate with relevant departments to ensure compatibility and compliance with company policies.
  • Network Management: Assist in the management and maintenance of the company’s network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and work with the IT team to optimize network performance and security.
  • User Account Management: Create, modify, and manage user accounts and access permissions for various company systems and applications. Maintain accurate records of user permissions and ensure compliance with security protocols.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Implement and oversee data backup procedures to safeguard critical company data. Assist in data recovery efforts in the event of system failures or data loss incidents.
  • Security and Compliance: Collaborate with the IT Security team to maintain a secure IT environment. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations, company policies, and industry best practices related to IT security.
  • Documentation: Create and update technical documentation, including IT procedures, troubleshooting guides, and knowledge base articles. Encourage knowledge sharing within the team to improve overall efficiency.
  • IT Asset Management: Maintain an accurate inventory of IT assets, track their lifecycle, and coordinate hardware and software procurement when necessary. Ensure compliance with the company’s asset management policies.
  • Technology Trends: Stay up-to-date with the latest technology trends and advancements in the IT industry. Propose innovative solutions to enhance IT processes and improve overall efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist or similar role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of IT systems and technologies.
  • Proficient knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, protocols, and hardware (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routers, switches, firewalls).
  • Experience with Active Directory, user management, and group policy administration.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to analyze and resolve technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide courteous and effective support to end-users.
  • Detail-oriented and well-organized, capable of maintaining accurate documentation and tracking IT assets.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) are a plus.
