
Position Overview
As an IT Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and maintenance of an organization’s IT infrastructure, systems, and services. Your primary objective will be to ensure the smooth functioning, reliability, and efficiency of the IT environment, enabling seamless business operations and enhanced productivity. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to optimize IT processes and align them with the organization’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Infrastructure Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, storage, and data centers.
- Ensure the availability and performance of IT systems and services by monitoring and troubleshooting potential issues proactively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and expansions to meet business demands.
- Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead and manage the IT operations team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Assign tasks, set performance expectations, and conduct regular performance evaluations.
- Coach and develop team members to enhance their technical skills and professional growth.
- Incident Management and Problem Resolution:
- Develop and maintain incident management processes to respond promptly to IT incidents and minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with technical teams to resolve complex issues and ensure root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
- Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize risks and maintain data integrity.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, SLAs (Service Level Agreements), and ensure service delivery adheres to agreed-upon standards.
- Review vendor performance regularly and manage relationships to ensure optimal service and value for the organization.
- Budgeting and Resource Planning:
- Plan, allocate, and manage the IT operations budget effectively.
- Identify resource needs, staffing requirements, and training opportunities to enhance the team’s capabilities.
- IT Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to safeguard the organization’s IT infrastructure, data, and systems against cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, industry standards, and internal policies related to IT operations.
- IT Strategy and Continuous Improvement:
- Collaborate with senior management to align IT operations with the overall organizational strategy and business objectives.
- Develop and execute IT process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and drive innovation.
- IT Projects and Change Management:
- Oversee the successful delivery of IT projects and initiatives, ensuring they are completed within scope, budget, and schedule.
- Manage change requests and ensure appropriate communication and training for the affected stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in IT operations management, with a track record of successfully leading and managing a team.
- Strong technical knowledge and understanding of IT infrastructure, systems, and network architecture.
- Comprehensive knowledge of IT security best practices and risk management.
- Familiarity with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) processes and best practices.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement IT strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Project management expertise, including the ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Certifications such as ITIL, PMP (Project Management Professional), or CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) are advantageous.
