Position Overview

As an IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the information technology activities within our organization. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of technical and managerial tasks, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our IT infrastructure and systems. You will lead a team of IT professionals and work collaboratively with various departments to support their technological needs and align IT initiatives with the overall business strategy. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a keen understanding of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic IT Planning:
    • Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization’s business goals and objectives.
    • Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge and improve operational efficiency.
    • Collaborate with executive management to propose budgets, resource allocation, and timelines for IT projects.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, help desk personnel, and other IT specialists.
    • Delegate tasks effectively, set performance expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and support the team’s professional growth.
  3. IT Infrastructure and Systems Management:
    • Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cloud services.
    • Ensure the security and integrity of data and systems by implementing robust cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans.
  4. IT Operations and Support:
    • Monitor the performance and availability of IT systems and applications to proactively identify and resolve issues.
    • Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to maintain consistency and compliance across the organization.
    • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, addressing their IT-related needs and concerns.
  5. Vendor Management:
    • Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, evaluate service level agreements, and manage vendor relationships effectively.
    • Evaluate and select technology solutions that align with the organization’s requirements and budget constraints.
  6. Project Management:
    • Lead the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Manage project risks and mitigate potential issues to achieve successful project outcomes.
  7. Information Security and Compliance:
    • Develop and enforce information security policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
    • Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures.
  8. Technology Training and Awareness:
    • Organize and conduct technology training sessions for employees to enhance their IT skills and promote cybersecurity awareness.
    • Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the IT team and the broader organization.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in IT management or a related leadership role.
  • Strong technical knowledge across various IT disciplines, including networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
  • Previous experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
  • In-depth understanding of information security best practices and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or others are a plus.
