
Position Overview
As an IT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the information technology activities within our organization. Your responsibilities will span a wide range of technical and managerial tasks, ensuring the efficient and secure operation of our IT infrastructure and systems. You will lead a team of IT professionals and work collaboratively with various departments to support their technological needs and align IT initiatives with the overall business strategy. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a keen understanding of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic IT Planning:
- Develop and implement IT strategies that align with the organization’s business goals and objectives.
- Identify emerging technologies and trends to maintain a competitive edge and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with executive management to propose budgets, resource allocation, and timelines for IT projects.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of IT professionals, including system administrators, network engineers, help desk personnel, and other IT specialists.
- Delegate tasks effectively, set performance expectations, conduct performance evaluations, and support the team’s professional growth.
- IT Infrastructure and Systems Management:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, software, and cloud services.
- Ensure the security and integrity of data and systems by implementing robust cybersecurity measures and disaster recovery plans.
- IT Operations and Support:
- Monitor the performance and availability of IT systems and applications to proactively identify and resolve issues.
- Establish and enforce IT policies and procedures to maintain consistency and compliance across the organization.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end-users, addressing their IT-related needs and concerns.
- Vendor Management:
- Collaborate with external vendors and service providers to negotiate contracts, evaluate service level agreements, and manage vendor relationships effectively.
- Evaluate and select technology solutions that align with the organization’s requirements and budget constraints.
- Project Management:
- Lead the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Manage project risks and mitigate potential issues to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Information Security and Compliance:
- Develop and enforce information security policies to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
- Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement appropriate security measures.
- Technology Training and Awareness:
- Organize and conduct technology training sessions for employees to enhance their IT skills and promote cybersecurity awareness.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the IT team and the broader organization.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 5+ years) in IT management or a related leadership role.
- Strong technical knowledge across various IT disciplines, including networking, systems administration, cybersecurity, and cloud technologies.
- Previous experience in project management, with a track record of successfully delivering IT projects on time and within budget.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions under pressure.
- In-depth understanding of information security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Experience with vendor management and contract negotiation.
- Relevant certifications such as ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or others are a plus.
