Position Overview

As an IT Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization’s IT infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on managing the systems and technologies that support the organization’s day-to-day operations, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security. You will lead a team of IT professionals, collaborating with various stakeholders to align IT strategies with business objectives and to provide reliable and efficient technology services.

Key Responsibilities

  • IT Infrastructure Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop and execute the IT infrastructure roadmap, aligned with the organization’s business goals and long-term vision.
    • Assess current infrastructure capabilities, identify areas for improvement, and recommend innovative solutions to optimize IT operations.
    • Work closely with the IT leadership team to define and implement IT policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Team Leadership and Management:
    • Lead and mentor a team of IT infrastructure professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Delegate tasks effectively, manage workloads, and ensure that team members have the necessary resources and support to fulfill their responsibilities.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and promote skill development through training and professional development opportunities.
  • Infrastructure Design and Implementation:
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement IT infrastructure projects, including network upgrades, server deployments, cloud migrations, and data center expansions.
    • Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends to make informed decisions on infrastructure investments and upgrades.
    • Ensure adherence to best practices and industry standards in infrastructure design and implementation.
  • Security and Risk Management:
    • Develop and implement robust security measures to safeguard the organization’s IT infrastructure from potential threats and cyberattacks.
    • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and address potential weaknesses.
    • Establish disaster recovery and business continuity plans to minimize downtime and data loss in the event of system failures or disasters.
  • Vendor Management:
    • Evaluate and select vendors for IT infrastructure components and services, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality.
    • Monitor vendor performance, manage relationships, and hold vendors accountable to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget, ensuring that expenditures align with business priorities and financial constraints.
    • Implement cost-saving measures without compromising the quality and performance of IT services.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
    • Monitor the performance of IT infrastructure components, identifying bottlenecks and areas for improvement.
    • Implement proactive measures to optimize system performance, capacity, and scalability.
  • Compliance and Governance:
    • Ensure IT infrastructure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, industry standards, and internal policies.
    • Participate in internal and external audits, addressing any findings and implementing necessary corrective actions.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A master’s degree is advantageous.
  • Proven experience (typically 8+ years) in IT infrastructure management, including network administration, systems engineering, and cloud technologies.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to build and motivate high-performing teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of IT infrastructure components, such as servers, storage systems, networking devices, virtualization technologies, and cloud platforms.
  • Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and best practices in securing IT infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost control.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
