Summary

We are looking for a talented and experienced Credit Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of financial statements, credit risk, and lending principles. They will be able to use their skills to assess the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and make recommendations on whether or not to extend credit.

Responsibilities

  • Understand financial statements: Credit Analysts must have a strong understanding of how to read and interpret financial statements. They need to be able to identify the key financial metrics that are used to assess creditworthiness, such as debt-to-equity ratio, interest coverage ratio, and cash flow from operations.
  • Assess credit risk: Credit Analysts must be able to assess the credit risk of potential borrowers. This involves evaluating the borrower’s financial statements, credit history, and industry outlook. Credit Analysts must also be able to identify and assess the borrower’s specific risks, such as the risk of default or bankruptcy.
  • Make lending recommendations: Credit Analysts must make recommendations on whether or not to extend credit to potential borrowers. These recommendations are based on the Credit Analyst’s assessment of the borrower’s creditworthiness and risk profile.
  • Monitor credit accounts: Once credit has been extended, Credit Analysts must monitor the borrower’s financial performance to ensure that they are able to repay the loan. This involves tracking the borrower’s financial statements, cash flow, and debt payments.
  • Work with other departments: Credit Analysts must work closely with other departments, such as Sales and Marketing, to ensure that credit decisions are aligned with the company’s overall business goals.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field
  • Experience: Experience in credit analysis or lending
